Foreign Issues
So, the mess in Honduras seems to grow daily. There was an attempt at a meeting in Costa Rica, moderated by Costa Rican President Oscar Arias. However, both the parties, Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and the usurper Roberto Micheletti, refused to meet with each other. That is somewhat appropriate; Micheletti has no legitimacy and President Zelaya should not give him any.
There is an issue here. President Zelaya is not a friend of the United States. However, he is the democratically elected president of Honduras. He was illegally overthrown by the military; who claim that he broke laws there. If a president breaks laws, then impeach him according to the laws and Constitution for that country. The military does not have the right to put their man in place of a democratically elected president.
President Obama should take a stand on this; I am not holding my breath, but he should make this a democratic statement. The United States should refuse to recognize any government other than that of President Zelaya. He should also withdraw our ambassador from Honduras until President Zelaya is returned to power.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s we made the philosophical mistake of dealing with right-wing dictatorships, rather than accepting the democratically elected representatives; even if those representatives were left-wing. It is not our choice who a country elects; democracy is about allowing the people to decide. If Obama and our government accepts the results of a military coup, they are a failed administration.

Domestic Issue
On July 4th the police in Crivitz. WI seized the flag of restaurant owner Vito Congine Jr. who had been flying an American flag upside down outside his restaurant because the town refused to grant him a liquor license. This guy is an Iraq veteran so he should know better. Flying the flag upside down is a message; it means distress, send help now. It is not a valid form of protest. When a flag is seen flying upside down, law enforcement officers should go running with guns drawn; this guy was using this as a political protest against his town. He should be prosecuted under the Flag Act.
Naturally, the leftists at the ACLU are considering legal action. Well, lawyers will be lawyers and the ACLU will be idiots. The town of Crivitz was right; this was a desecration of the American flag. Now, they should have taken action prior to their July 4th parade; but their actions were warranted.
As they say, the hits just keep coming. It was reported on Fox News on May 28, that Sonia Sottomayer joined an opinion in 2004 that the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does not apply to the states. This obviously flies in the face of the 2008 Supreme Court case District of Columbia v. Heller where the Supreme Court stated that individuals do have the right to bear arms.
Sottomayor also stated that the 2nd Amendment is not a “fundamental” right. This I find amazing! The 2nd Amendment is one of the founding documents of the United States government. I don’t know what could be more “fundamental” than that. It is understood that an ultra-liberal president such as Obama, will nominate ultra-liberal judges to the bench. Anyone who thinks that a liberal president would appoint a conservative judge or a conservative president a liberal judge, simply does not have a firm grasp on reality. However, every time I hear a statement from Sonia Sottomayor, I am do not think, well here goes more liberal stuff. I hear statements that point to Sonia Sottomayor’s inability to fulfill the role she is nominated for. I don’t hear liberal statements; I hear statements that appear to show that she is pursuing her personal agendas through the high offices she has obtained. That, according to any definition I know of is, is abuse of power.

Obama selected Sonia Sotomayor as his choice for the Supreme Court to replace the highly esteemed David Souter. What a huge mistake. Judge (to use the term loosely) Sotomayor is a racist and her legal opinions are nothing short of trying to legislate from the bench. In selecting Sotomayor, Obama is pandering to the far left wing of the Democratic party (that wing would be called the socialists; of which I have long suspected Obama to be a part).
Sotomayor endorsed the racist decisions of a Connecticut town to disqualify an fire department officer’s test because no American-Americans passed. That was an unconstitutional decision; as was the decision of the court that endorsed it. The men who passed, both White and Hispanic btw, where victims of discrimination. Essentially, Sotomayor said that it is ok to discriminate; as long as it is not against African Americans.
Sotomayor has no place on any bench, much less the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court seems to agree. She has had six decisions reach the Supreme Court; five were reversed and in the other, the Supreme Court disagree with her decision. So that makes her 0-6 with the august body she wants to join. She does have one more on the way; the case of the Connecticut firefighters who were discriminated against; by their town and by her. She won’t get to vote on her own case through; I believe that case makes it to Washington in June, and she probably won’t be confirmed until late summer.
It would be nice if the Senate asked her hard questions. However, with the Barack Obama rubber-stamp Congress in charge, I see nothing but softballs from the Democrats, and hopefully a change of pace with intelligent and probing questions from the Republicans. But I have not much confidence. In either case, confirmation with the rubber stamp congress is only a formality; they do Barack Hussein Obama’s bidding, nothing more.

Domestic Issues,
Israel
“The University of California, Santa Barbara, is investigating allegations of improper conduct and anti-Semitism against a Jewish professor who compared Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust.
Sociology professor William I. Robinson sent an e-mail to 80 of his students in January that contained photos of Jews killed by the Nazis and similar photos of Palestinians killed in the recent Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The e-mail used the terms concentration camp and genocide when referring to Gaza.
Two Jewish students quit the class and filed complaints. Jewish groups also have complained.
Robinson argues that he was within his rights of academic freedom to challenge students with controversial topics.” — Fox News April 30, 2009
Oh when will the insanity stop? Political correctness can go too far, even in California. A Jewish professor has been charged with Antisemitism. How it is possible for a Semite to be antisemitic? It is not. This is a professor. Professor routinely take controversial positions in order to challenge their students to think; additionally, this professor seems to have made a political statement. The purpose of the First Amendment is to protect people who have unpopular beliefs. It is possible to have viewpoints opposing a particular group without having hateful intentions towards that group.
It would appear that this professor may be being targeted by his university because he is Jewish, not because he criticized the government of Israel.

Homosexual
From One News Now:
“A Christian activist says the controversy surrounding Miss California Carrie Prejean and her answer to a question about same-sex “marriage” is bringing out the true nature of homosexuals and their supporters.
By now, Prejean’s answer to pageant judge and homosexual blogger Perez Hilton’s question is famous. Prejean said during the Miss USA pageant on Sunday that she believed true marriage was for a man and woman only.
“We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country and in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” Miss California said. “No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised. I think that it should be between a man and a woman.” (See earlier article)
Homosexual activists unleashed vicious attacks against Prejean — among them Hilton himself, who in a video rant on his website called her several vulgar names.”
If it were not completely obvious by now, this clinches the deal. The homosexual activists and their lapdog/mouthpieces the Democratic Party, are not willing to abide any viewpoints other than their own. These unAmerican fascists will stop at nothing until they have completely destroyed American and Western society and remade it in their own image.
There is nothing natural or attractive about the homosexual lifestyle. And the proponents of it have shown time and again that they do not care to have an open debate or “live and let live”, as they would have us believe. Instead, their sole objective is to subvert society and to label any who disagree with them as bigots. My contention is that the bigots and the fascists are the homosexual lobby and their lapdogs.

Foreign Affairs,
Terrorist
So, Ahmadinejad, the possibly insane and definitely deranged puppet President of the evil Imams in Iran, has stated that, “The Iranian nation welcomes a hand extended to it should it really and truly be based on honesty, justice and respect.” Well ain’t that nice. It would be nicer still if the Hitler-wannabe tried some honesty of his own. Ahmadinejad has called for the destruction of Israel, so no recognition is possible of his illegitimate government. Unless of course Obama turns out to a weak appeaser, such as Chamberlain was in 1938 at Munich. That is yet to be determined.
However, back to the devil in Tehran. The man is a liar, well he’s a politician and politician pretty much equals liar in any language. The man endorses the violent destruction of a legitimate country. He is in fact no better than Hitler or Pol Pot, and so should not be dealt with, except as one deals with a loud and rabid dog. President Obama should force this loudmouth to reject his calls for the destruction of Israel before any contact is made between our two governments.
While we’re at it, Ahmadinejad should be made to come clean on his activities surrounding the illegal 1979 takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran. Obviously, this act of war are done with the full knowledge and consent of the Iranian government; as a result, if we had had a real President at the time, the nation of Iran should have been bombed off the face of the earth. It was too late then; but there have been several of the former hostages who have stated that Ahmadinejad was one of the “students” (read Iranian soldiers) who stormed the embassy and held the diplomats hostage.
There have been too many of the former hostages that have made this claim to blindly except the word of the President of an illegitimate government.

According a news article in Fox News, New York State will soon start discriminating against heterosexuals. (my analysis, not Fox’s who simply reported the facts in a fair and balanced way). This new discriminatory law will have the children of a lesbian, married to another lesbian out of state, to have both women listed as parents if one or the other gives birth.
Why is that discriminatory you ask? After all, right or wrong, New State, while not allowing lesbian or homosexual marriages themselves, do recognize such marriages if done outside New York. Now lesbians no longer have to go through the adoption process if one of the partners gives birth; it is now automatic that the lesbians are the parents. This is discriminatory in two ways. First, in a heterosexual relationship, the man has to go through the adoption process to be named the parent of his female companion/wife’s child or children. So, lesbians now have greater rights than heterosexual men. Secondly, what about the natural fathers? What of their rights? From my reading of the article, it seems that only the women and her lesbian lover will have parental rights. The natural father seems to be left out of the picture. Women’s group scream bloody murder about deadbeat dads, and rightfully so. But now we have the situation where potentially responsible fathers are given the boot. You can’t have it both ways.
So we have the Democrats obvious lack of morality taking on even greater offensiveness. A non-natural parent should have to go through the adoption process. If New York wishes to recognize an unnatural act, such as homosexual and lesbian marriages, that is their business. However, the rules of the game should be the same for everyone. If a lesbian couple does not need to go through the adoption process, neither should a heterosexual couple. If a heterosexual couple has to go through the adoption cycle, so should a lesbian couple.
More evidence that New York and its ultra-liberal rulers have no sense of justice and no common sense.

Foreign Issues,
Israel,
United Nations
According to a recent report by the U.N.’s Radhika Coomaraswamy , the U.N. secretary-general’s envoy for protecting children in armed conflict, Israeli soldiers used a Palestinian boy as a human shield during the Gaza conflict earlier this year. According to Coomaraswamy, the Israeli’s were guilty of any number of war crimes during the war: including shooting Palestinian children, bulldozing a home with a woman and child still inside, and shelling a building they had ordered civilians into a day earlier.
According to Coomaraswamy, “Violations were reported on a daily basis, too numerous to list.” Well, it was a war, and hopefully the Israeli soldiers were not guilty as charged. If they were, the specific soldiers should be tried and punished by the Israeli army. However, it is interesting to note that Coomaraswamy admitted “reports” of war crimes committed by Hamas, but had not verified those.
Let’s see, she was in Gaza and had not “verified” Hamas’ war crimes, but appears more than willing to take Hamas’ word that Israel was the major committer of war crimes. Maybe an independent source should be used. After all, the United Nations cannot be trusted to pass judgement on Israel, they are one of the most anti-semitic organizations in the world, with the possible exception of the neo-Nazis.
This Radhika Coomaraswamy person obviously does not have a clue how to conduct an independent investigation. She has apparently heaped the accusations on the heads of Israel and has basically given Hamas a free pass. However, that is to be expected; she, along with her employers at the United Nations, seem to be Israel and Jew-haters who will probably do anything to discredit Israel.

Abortion,
Legal
So, there is an investigation underway of Planned Parenthood in several states, including Arizona and Illinois. The Mona Lisa Project, as it is styled, is investigating cases where Planned Parenthood has illegally promoted abortion. Now, this is not about pro-life pro-death. This is about obeying the law.
In two cases in Arizona, women posing as underage girls who were impregnated by older men, were told that “no questions” would be asked, were even advised on how to skirt consent laws. These are complete violations of Arizona law. Arizona law requires that medical personnel, and yes unfortunately abortion providers are considered medical personnel, must inform authorities of cases of statutory rape. Arizona law also apparently requires that parents give consent for abortions of under aged girls. That is appropriate; afterall, parents have to give consent to have a hangnail removed, why not an abortion?
It would appear that Planned Parenthood, despite protests of investigations (after being caught), are placing their radical pro-death agenda ahead of legitimate state laws.
